Today was a pretty uneventful day but we did pick us a good deal of miles. We got kind of a late start but had a great breakfast at Mel's Diner and picked up some supplies at the local grocery store. After that it was pure driving until we stopped here in Salem, Oregon a little after eight. We grabbed some dinner and then headed back here for some rest. It is funny that whether you are running around a city all day or siting in a car... you still end the day really tired. We did see something a little funny in the parking lot of our motel...a NYC transit authority bus. I didn't take the bus that often when I worked in Manhattan but I am pretty sure there isn't a line that takes you through Salem, Oregon.

So today was a pure travel day but tomorrow we are excited about getting in two breaks when we pass through Portland and Seattle. By tomorrow night we should be actually heading east!
